In a visually rich talk, Dr. Andrew Mactavish explores the complex question of our relationship to birds, the impact of photography on birds and its potential to alter our relationship to the natural world. His talk is organized around his own bird photography, focusing mainly on the amazing diversity of birds we can see in the Hamilton area, including those that are migrating through the area right now!

Dr. Mactavish is an Associate Professor of Media Arts in the Department of Communication Studies & Media Arts at McMaster University. His research focuses on participatory digital culture with a special interest in the creation and sharing of wildlife media in online communities.
