As part of McMaster University’s Black History Month events, we are pleased to announce that Dr. Malinda Smith of the University of Alberta will be visiting campus on Monday, February 25th, 2019. Please join us in Celebration Hall, Kenneth Taylor Hall (KTH) from 4pm-6pm for a discussion with Dr. Smith and Dr. Arig al Shaibah, AVP, Equity and Inclusion. The discussion will focus on equity and diversity in academia.
Dr. Smith is a Full Professor in the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Arts, at the University of Alberta, and a 2018 Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation Fellow, a 2018 Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Award recipient, and a 2018-19 Provost Fellow in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Policy. She has co-authored such works as, ‘The Equity Myth’ and ‘States of Race: Critical Race Feminism for the 21st Century’.
