The five-year-long war on Yemen waged by a Saudi-led coalition and until recently supported by the United States has inflicted on Yemen the worst public health crisis in the world. Dealing with the coronavirus pandemic has been impeded, cholera has been rampant, health infrastructure has been bombed or degraded, and 12 million people are food insecure. The war has barely registered with the American public despite the deep involvement of the U.S., an involvement the Biden administration has quickly moved to repudiate. But can America help Yemen avoid more deaths?
