Do-It-Yourself (DIY) Virtual Tax Clinic
Want to feel tax empowered and take control of your finances? Interested in learning how to prepare your own 2021 personal tax return? AWESOME – you got this. We will teach you all you need to know at our DIY Tax Clinics. There will be 2 parts to the presentation with a break in between.
Part 1 will be an information session on what all the hype is about and the important benefits and tax credits that you can receive now and in the future.
Part 2 is all about YOU preparing your own return online as we walk you through the process. We will be using “WealthSimple” tax software (previously “Simple Tax”). You might want to check it https://www.wealthsimple.com/en-ca and create an account to be ready. You will be able to NetFile your return to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) on the spot! If you already, filed before you can register for your online CRA account to make it easier. Go to this link https://bit.ly/341q4Ga and follow the instructions for My Account for Individuals
Things to Note: You are required to have a Social Insurance Number (S.I.N) to file a tax return. If you have a spouse or common-law partner who has been living with you for more than 12 consecutive months – you will need their net income as well or have them join the sessions with you so you can prepare the returns together.
Also, if you have already filed your taxes before, and do not already have an online CRA (Canada Revenue Agency) account, you can register now for your online CRA account to make it easier/faster for us to prepare your return. You will need a copy of your previous year’s return to do this. Go to this link https://bit.ly/341q4Ga and follow the instructions for My Account for Individuals.
