Preventing chronic is the #1 priority for youth with chronic pain, their families, and healthcare professionals in Canada. Partnering For Pain is an award-winning patient-oriented research program at University of Calgary. Dr. Katie Birnie, Project Lead, and Isabel Jordan, Patient Partner, will share the project’s innovative approach to using design thinking methods to engage youth, parents, healthcare professionals, and healthcare administrators in co-designing a new health service to prevent the development of chronic pain in youth after surgery.
