What is the Accessibility and Disability Inclusion Update?
-It is a collection of accessibility-related and disability inclusion initiatives that have been ongoing at McMaster throughout 2017-2018. Examples: Teaching and learning activities, departmental changes and plans, auditing/upgrading of physical spaces
Why an annual update?
-To highlight accessibility work; to connect students, staff and faculty with disabilities to disability community and initiatives; and
-To continue building a culture of accessibility and disability inclusion at McMaster University.
Who can contribute?
-Any member of the McMaster community and community partners.
Where will the update be published and distributed?
-Through various McMaster networks, including: faculties, departments, programs, the McMaster Daily News and McMaster social media. It will also be available on the Accessibility Hub and Equity and Inclusion websites.
How should I make my submission?
-Your submission should be 100-150 words. If accepted, it may be edited before publication. Photos and links to resources/videos are also welcome! Submit to access@mcmaster.ca.
