Art of Time Ensemble: I Send You This Cadmium Red

The script in this performance piece is based on letters about colour between writer/painter John Berger and his painter/filmmaker friend John Christie. But their words come alive through added layers of music, composed by Gavin Bryars and performed by Andrew Burashko’s Art of Time Ensemble, against a backdrop of two screens featuring animated brushstrokes from director Bruce Alcock.

The piece started out at a radio work for the BBC. This multidisciplinary, multi-sensory feast was directed by Daniel Brooks, and produced by Andrew Burashko of Art of Time Ensemble.
