Students often ask, “How will I stand out?” The McMaster World Congress can help with the answers.

For 29 years, this gathering has provided business students, academic researchers and business practitioners with an opportunity to present, discuss and review the latest issues, trends, challenges and opportunities in the fields of corporate governance, intellectual capital and strategic business valuation.

This year, the World Congress adds a new stream focused on student development.

“This track will be particularly beneficial for both current and graduating students,” explains Josh Grant, World Congress co-chair.

Sessions in the student development track will focus on careers in the gaming industry, sports management and entertainment, real estate, deciding to go to medical school or get your MBA or PhD, financial management for students, public speaking, networking, etiquette and many other topics.

“The McMaster World Congress is an incredible opportunity for students of all programs to hone the skills that will separate them from the pack,” says Ryan Giles, World Congress public relations associate. “No matter what your particular area of study may be, students must be able to present ideas clearly, manage their personal finances, speak with confidence, and of course, network. This world-class event offers the perfect framework for students to connect not only with their peers, but with academic and career professionals alike.”

The World Congress is the largest event of its kind in Canada. It will be held Jan. 16 to 18 at the Hamilton Convention Centre.
