A study by McMaster's Martin Gibala, an associate professor in the Department of Kinesiology, was the most read story on the Daily News in 2005. Gibala's research suggests just six minutes of intense exercise a week could be as effective as an hour of daily moderate activity.
The story headed a list of the top 10 Daily News stories of 2005. Other articles that made it into the top 10 focused on student life, McMaster's research prowess, the top 75 people and places of McMaster and a $10-million donation toward the construction of McMaster University's new stadium.
Each month, the Office of Public Relations distributes the DAILeNEWS e-newsletter, featuring the top 10 stories of the previous month, a photo of the month and an editor's pick. To view a special edition of the DAILeNEWS e-newsletter, or to subscribe, click here.
