Sketching a legacy for kinesiology students

The Department of Kinesiology has found a unique way to honour its 2012 graduates.
The department commissioned artist Khanh Be, who earned her degree in kinesiology last week – to create a visual tribute to this year’s graduating class.
The resulting mural – a six-foot-long illustration of six students in graduation robes, emblazoned by the words “MAC KIN 2012” – can be found in the foyer of the Ivor Wynne Centre.
The words act as x-ray images and reveal what’s “inside” a kinesiology student: their passions, favourite activities and topics studied.
Be’s previous work includes a sketch of the University’s founder and namesake William McMaster, commissioned for a video to help celebrate National Philanthropy Day in November.
“It was an honour to do a project that represents the graduating class,” she said. “It was mind-blowing to have that opportunity.”
Be recently founded her own company, drawattention, which specializes in taking pictures and transforming them into stories using graphite on paper.
