The McMaster Marauder baseball team took complete control of second place in the OUA baseball standings with a doubleheader sweep of
the Toronto Varsity Blues on Sunday. McMaster was one game ahead of the Blues entering the doubleheader and now has a three-game lead on the Blues.

Game one proved to be a pitchers dual with the Marauders coming out on top for a 2-1 victory. Both starting pitchers through complete games with McMasters Josh Krywionek securing the win. Krywionek pitched seven strong innings allowing only one run on six hits while striking out six. The Marauders opened the scoring in the third when OUA RBI leader Kevin Comiskey singled in Andy Steeds. McMaster added the eventual winning run in the sixth when Jeremy Paikin scored on Phil Stones squeeze bunt.

In the second game, the Marauder offense exploded for an 12-2 victory. Manish Thapar and Neil McBride each had two hits and four RBIs in the game to lead the McMaster offense. Aaron Gordon picked up the win on the hill for the Marauders pitching six innings allowing only two runs on six hits while striking out six.
