The final six teams in the Canadian Interuniversity Athletic Union's men's soccer competition are at McMaster to compete for the 29th CIAU Men's Soccer Championship.

The tournament began at noon today. The championship final will take place on Sunday, Nov. 12 at 2 p.m., preceded by the bronze medal game at 11 a.m.

Both games are scheduled to be played at Les Prince Field, but due to
the Yates Cup football game on Saturday, Nov. 11, the games will be moved to Ten-Acre Varsity Field, should the terrain be in disrepair.

The six contending teams have been divided into two pools and will play each team in their pool once. Round-robin play will cover the first three days of the event. On Sunday, the top two teams from each pool with meet for the championship game. The number two teams will meet for the bronze. Tournament seeding was predetermined based on guidelines set out by the CIAU Soccer Coaches Association.

The team to beat will be the number-one ranked McGill Redmen, who have spent most of the season at or near the top of the CIAU rankings. After slipping as low as third, the Redmen spent the last six weeks at number one. The Marauders are seeded sixth.
