After a successful championship last year, with a capacity crowd in
attendance at McMaster's Burridge Gymnasium, Power Cheerleading Athletics will host the National University Cheerleading Championship at McMaster again this year.
Sixteen of the best teams in
the country will compete Friday, Nov. 30 for the National University Cheerleading title.
The competition takes place in Burridge Gym in the Ivor Wynne Centre. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the competition begins at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are $10 and will be available at the door.
Also highlighting this year's competition will be the performance of Attic Recording artist, Jazmin. Jazmin will be performing during the intermission between rounds. Teams' performance times will be in five-minute intervals.
Once the first round scores are completed, teams will perform in the
second round in reverse order of placement in the first. (i.e. 16, 15, 14 etc.)
McMaster's team, which placed fifth last year, will be a top contender again this season.
The McMaster team will perform in the 15th spot in the
first round at about 8:40 p.m.
