The University has filed a statement of defence in connection with a lawsuit filed by a former employee.

Scott Hassal, a former project engineer at the nuclear reactor, is suing McMaster, claiming he is owed money for work on developing a method to produce the radioactive isotope Iodine 125 used to treat prostate cancer.

Hassal contends in his statement of claim that he is owed money based on the University's patent policy, the Hamilton Spectator reports in the story, Mac denies inventor entitled to cash.
