Visitors to campus now have ten permanent helpers to provide directions to dozens of campus buildings. A partnership between facility services, security and media production services, new fingerposts were installed this week across the main campus.
“These signs are a step in the right direction, so to speak,” said Glenn De Caire, director, Security and Parking Services. “Combined with the large, backlit campus maps installed in four locations last fall, the signposts will help people find their way.”
The ten signposts are located across campus:
- Mary Keyes turning circle
- In front of Hamilton Hall
- In front of University Club, North of Ravine Walkway
- Stern and Chester New Hall
- Mitchell Crescent and Lot G
- In front of IWC
- East side of MUSC/ Lot B and C Access Road
- Near bus stop at Sterling Avenue, South of Mills Library
- Across from bus stop on University Avenue
- South-east corner of Lot I on College Crescent
The next phases of the wayfinding project include installing street signs, setting up interactive information kiosks and developing an app.
