McMaster named one of Canada’s top employers in Hamilton-Niagara

For the sixth consecutive year, McMaster has been named one of Hamilton-Niagara’s top employers.

This annual competition, organized by the editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers, recognizes employers in the Hamilton-Niagara area who lead exceptional places to work.

Organizations are evaluated using eight criteria:

physical workplace
work atmosphere and social
health, financial and family benefits
vacation and time off
employee communications
performance management
training and skills development
community involvement.

Employers are compared to similar organizations to determine which offers the most progressive and forward-thinking programs.

“This recognition highlights many of the things that McMaster strives to offer as a major employer in our community,” said President David Farrar. “Thank you to all our faculty and staff for your continued efforts and commitment to making McMaster such a great place to work and study.”

“The people truly are the heart of McMaster,” added Wanda McKenna, assistant vice-president and chief human resources officer. “We continually strive to attract, develop, and retain world class talent, and this award will help us continue to do so. “
