On Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005, the second annual McMaster United Way Run/Walk will take place from 12-2 p.m. The route includes a 5km run or a 3km walk through the beautiful McMaster campus.

This is one event where your level of physical fitness does not have to be that of a seasoned runner. It's a fun event for individuals and teams of all athletic (or non-athletic) levels to participate and enjoy.

Through the kindness of event sponsors, prizes and gifts will be awarded for categories of individual and team participation. After running up a sweat, the event will wrap up with light refreshments and presentations at Quarters.

Registration information and further details will soon be available at www.workingatmcmaster.ca.
Updates will be provided on the Daily News.

All event proceeds will be donated to the United Way. “The United Way is an important service that helps many people in the Hamilton community,” says McMaster President Peter George. “I am proud of the outstanding contribution that the people of McMaster make to support this worthy cause. I hope everyone will come out on October 25 to participate in the McMaster United Way Run/Walk and make it a great success.”

The United Way Run/Walk event is a part of McMaster's annual Healthy Workplace Week, which runs October 24-28, 2005. To help employees prepare for the run/walk event, the Healthy Workplace group is offering a series of free running and walking clinics that run from 12-1 p.m. and 1-2 p.m. Check out the schedule online and schedule some times to join a clinic and enjoy some fresh air on your lunch break.
Further details about Healthy Workplace Week will follow shortly.

Join your colleagues or organize a team for the McMaster United Way Run/Walk, and take the challenge to support a very worthy cause. For more information on United Way, visit www.uwaybh.ca.
