Gail Trevisani, program co-ordinator for the Internal Medicine Residency Program in the Department of Medicine, was one of two employees recognized for 40 years of service.

She said one of the most rewarding aspects of her career has been “developing and following the careers of our young residents. Over the years, we maintain close relationships with them, and many of them stay at McMaster in clinical and research positions.”

Trevisani has experienced many changes at McMaster over the past 40 years, including an increase in international and female students in the medical program.

Pat Harris began working at McMaster as a filing clerk 35 years ago. Now she's the associate registrar.

“I love my job,” said Harris. “I think it's the people, not just the ones within the registrar's office, but right across campus.”

In the past 35 years, she has witnessed the construction of new buildings, the renovation of existing buildings and several reconfigurations of the parking lots.

“Looking back, I feel fortunate to have landed here and for the journey it has taken me on,” said Harris.

Greenhouse technician Arthur Yeas has been caring for plants used for labs and research for the past 30 years.

Working in the Biology Greenhouse is “paradise,” said Yeas, adding that his favourite part of the job is “being able to grow all kinds of plants that I wouldn't be able to grow otherwise.”

Fifty-six employees worked at McMaster for 15 years, 71 worked for 20 years, 31 worked for 30 years and 14 worked for 35 years.
