Whether you're a newcomer or a lifelong resident, you've got many reasons to be proud to call Hamilton home. Now you're being asked to share those reasons with the world.
Launched last night at downtown's Hamilton Place, the Proud Hamilton campaign is a 15-week grassroots celebration of everything Hamiltonians have to be proud of. If initial interest is any indication, that includes many, many things.
Even before the campaign officially began, residents were going to proudhamilton.ca to share their stories, photos and videos that demonstrate what makes them proud to live in their city. Area organizations are also gearing up to do their part to show what Hamilton means to them by getting involved in the campaign: McMaster University will be highlighting stories from the campus community as well as engaging students, faculty, staff and others on social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. The University is joined in its support of the Proud Hamilton campaign by Mohawk College, the Hamilton Community Foundation, Hamilton Health Sciences, the City of Hamilton and many others.
The Proud Hamilton campaign is an initiative of the Jobs Prosperity Collaborative, a group of community leaders and organizations including McMaster University, who are committed to promoting Hamilton's prosperity through job creation and retention.
If you have a Proud Hamilton story to tell, visit proudhamilton.ca and submit it, or visit facebook.com/mcmasteruniversity and post it to our wall. You can also post your Proud Hamilton photos to our fan photo gallery.
