McMaster University’s Department of Athletics & Recreation has launched a new website, active.mcmaster.ca, to deliver a more seamless, accessible, and user-focused experience for students, staff, faculty and community.

Replacing the previous rec.mcmaster.ca domain, the new site reflects a modernized look that aligns with McMaster’s “Brighter World” visual brand identity and reaffirms the department’s commitment to inclusive excellence.

With improved navigation, enhanced mobile responsiveness, and updated content architecture, active.mcmaster.ca makes it easier than ever to find information about the diverse programs and services within the department of Athletics & Recreation, such as the Pulse Fitness Centre, aquatics, memberships, facility rentals, intramural sports and outdoor recreation.

“This redesign wasn’t just about updating our look,” said Trish Chant-Sehl, associate director, Recreation & Healthy Living.

“It was about creating a digital space that is accessible to all, intuitive to navigate, and reflective of our commitment to community wellbeing and inclusive excellence.”

The site now serves as the departmental hub for Athletics & Recreation, while still recognizing the specialized needs of other audiences.

Whether users are looking to learn about facilities and programming, join an intramural league, explore outdoor recreation offerings, or learn about equity-driven initiatives within the department, activemcmaster.ca brings it all together in one accessible and streamlined experience.

marauders.ca remains the go-to destination for varsity athletics content, including team rosters, game schedules, scores, and news. Meanwhile, sportmed.mcmaster.ca has been launched as the new website for the David Braley Sport Medicine & Rehabilitation Centre.
