McMaster boasts a population of approximately 170,000 graduates, all making contributions to society.

From globally renowned scientific breakthroughs to grassroots initiatives within the local community, McMaster alumni impact the world with their innovation, creativity, passion, and commitment to making a difference.

The Alumni Association offers a number of Alumni and Student awards that are given out annually. The Alumni Gallery, Arch, and Hamilton community and GTA community awards are all open for nominations, deadline to submit is September 1, 2017.

The Alumni Gallery Award, created in 1982, is a collection of 417 graduates who have lived interesting lives since graduation and exemplify how McMaster alumni positively affect and contribute to all aspects of society.

The Arch Award, a recent alumni award, is conferred to a graduates success in their career endeavours, interesting, unusual or innovative accomplishments in his or her public or personal life or notable contributions to society, to local communities or to the McMaster community.

The McMaster Alumni Hamilton Community Impact Award recognizes faculty, staff and graduates’ outstanding contribution to the Hamilton community. These individuals will have made a positive impact on Hamilton within the past three years, enhancing the quality of life for local citizens while reflecting the values of McMaster.

The McMaster Alumni Global Community Impact Award recognizes individuals who have made a positive impact on their community, regardless of location, within the past three years, enhancing the quality of life while reflecting the values of McMaster – integrity, quality and teamwork.
