Campus open today, police conclude searches and find nothing of concern

McMaster will open for classes and activities as usual today.

Police completed extensive searches of campus overnight and found no issues or concerns. The community is thanked for its understanding and patience. Police will continue their investigation to determine the origins of the automated call.

Sunday Sept. 25 10:40 pm

Hamilton police received an automated taped phone message this evening with threats against the McMaster campus. The message is similar to a series of hoax calls made to police and educational institutions in other provinces.

Police are on campus with McMaster security personnel and are conducting inspections. No further actions are necessary at this time and officials are monitoring this ongoing situation.
