Human Resources coordinator Alex Goodbrand (left) and Mosaic team member Nishaan Parbhoo teach McMaster administrators how to enter and review time data using McMaster’s forthcoming HR system, which will launch Oct. 20. The new system includes time management functions, payroll functions and health and safety tracking.

McMaster’s new Human Resources system will launch this weekend as scheduled, announced the Mosaic executive committee on Friday.

“This is an exciting weekend for McMaster. Thank you to both the team and those from across the University who have contributed their time, ideas and efforts to prepare the University for this moment,” said Roger Couldrey, vice-president (Administration) on behalf of the Mosaic executive committee.

The project team will work through the weekend to complete the switchover. To accommodate the installation of the new system, Mosaic, including its finance and research administration portions, will be unavailable until Oct. 20. During this time the Campus Store will remain open but be unable to process purchases on Mosaic chartfield strings. Scientific Stores will be closed while Mosaic is unavailable.

On Monday, Oct. 20 Mosaic will re-open. Initially, the HR portion will only be available to Departmental Administrators. The next day, Oct. 21, general employee self-service access will open. The new system will accessed at http://mosaic.mcmaster.ca with a user’s MAC ID and password.

A message on Monday will confirm the system launch.

Information regarding post-launch support will be available in the “Support” tab at http://mosaic.mcmaster.ca
