McMaster’s Sexual Violence Policy

The Sexual Violence and Harassment Action Plan Act (Supporting Survivors and Challenging Sexual Violence and Harassment), 2016 requires all Ontario universities to develop and implement a stand-alone Sexual Violence policy, which must be operational by January 1, 2017.

Following a long process of discussion, consultation and review, which included broad-based consultation with a diverse range of student, staff and faculty representatives, a near final draft is now available. Members of the campus community who wish to provide any final comments are requested to do so by contacting policy@mcmaster.ca by no later than November 18, 2016. The final version of the policy will be submitted to the University Senate and Board of Governors for approval at the meetings of the governing bodies in December.
