Posted on Sept. 15: Malaysian prince watches McMaster defeat Toronto 80-0

In front of Commonwealth Games vice-chairman and Malaysian prince Tunku Imran, the McMaster Marauders defeated the University of Toronto Varsity Blues 80-0 Saturday.
Performing in front of a crowd of 3,466 at Les Prince Field, the third-ranked Marauders accumulated 703 yards of net offense on 407 yards rushing and 301 yards in passing.
McMasters ground attack was lead by first-year full back Tom Flaxman
with 97 yards and one touchdown. Full back Mike Long added 93 yards, and running back Rick Andrade scampered for 81 yards and three touchdowns.
Starting running backs Kyle Pyear tallied two touchdowns and
Jessie Lumsden added one major before leaving the game in the middle
of the second quarter.
At pivot, starter Jon Behie completed 11 passes in 11 attempts for 164
yards and two touchdowns. Behie also rushed for a touchdown himself. First-year quarterback Adam Archibald started the second half and was successful with six of nine of his attempts for 137 yards. Third-year quarterback Mike Zaremba missed his third consecutive game with a sore back.
The leading targets on the day was 2002 OUA all-star Vaughn Swart with five catches for 104, 2001 second team all-Canadian, Chris Rankin added five receptions for 87 yards and one major.
OUA all-star kicker/punter Micheal Ray kicked three field goals and nine converts, scoring 18 points for McMaster.
The University of Toronto had 78 net yards in offense on 55 yards rushing and 38 yards passing.
The leading rusher for the Varsity Blues was Templar Iga with 18 carries for 47 yards. At quarterback, starter Carter Livingstone completed four of his 13 attempts for 13 yards. Backup quarterback Sean Bawden completed three of five passes for 30 yards. Receiver Jason Riff had four grabs for 20 yards.
The McMaster defense had four interceptions (Manny Furtado, Jesse Card, Frank Longo and Josh Foster) Chris Vrantsis and Andrew Jones added three tackles. McMaster linebacker, Nike Burns recovered a fumble for a touchdown.
The University of Toronto's Derek Wheeler had a game high nine tackles and seven assisted tackles for the Blues.
The Marauders travel to Richardson stadium in Kingston Saturday, Sept. 20 to play the fourth-ranked Queens Golden Gaels at 2 p.m.
