The McMaster Symposium on Education & Cognition in partnership with the McMaster Alumni Association are pleased to present a public lecture with award-winning professor and researcher, Dr. Mike Atkinson of Western University.

Dr. Atkinson will deliver a lecture on the techniques he employs to engage students. These techniques include establishing an environment that is lively with a fast-paced delivery that maintains attention, creates rapport, and challenges students to think about issues. In his presentation, Dr. Atkinson will model some of these techniques and then invite the audience to think about how to use these in their own classrooms.

A reception at 7:30 p.m. will follow the lecture.
