national championship, was visited by a CFL All-Star Tuesday.
Burlington, Ontario-native Chris Schultz, who spent nine years with the Toronto
Argonauts and was a member of the 1991 Grey Cup-winning squad, inspired the team
with a pep talk
delivered on the field at BC Place stadium.
“You be the team with the look in your eye, you be the team that is focused, you be the
team that wants this more than any other athletic endeavour you have ever wanted in
your life,” Schultz told the team. “You be the team that has fun, because you're beating
them. Focus together, rely on each other.”
Schultz was drafted in the seventh round of the 1983 NFL draft by the Dallas Cowboys
and played in Texas from 1983 to 1985. He returned to Canada in 1986 and played 124
games with the Argos as an offensive tackle.
He is currently in Vancouver covering the Grey Cup for sports broadcaster TSN, which is
also televising the Vanier Cup game Friday night at 9 p.m. EST, 6 p.m. PST.
