Visitors to campus can enjoy all these activities and more at tomorrow's May@Mac open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The campus open house is geared to introduce prospective students to the programs available at the University but all visitors are welcome.

Patricia Harris, associate registrar for student liaison, said she expects about 4,000 visitors to attend the annual event.

“We're offering them more than we ever have in the past,” she said. “There is no end to the number of activities available. There will be activity across the campus.”

This year's open house was originally slated for March Break but rescheduled due to the MUSA strike.

Holding the open house in May accommodates prospective students who have received an offer of acceptance from the University and must decide by June 13 whether to accept, Harris said. It gives them an opportunity to see the campus, meet faculty, staff and students and have their questions answered. It's also a chance for students who haven't received an offer yet to check out the campus.

The McMaster Marketplace held in the Ivor Wynne Centre features displays by various academic departments and student services available at the University.

Visitors can also tour the various buildings and see the labs, lecture halls and services that are used. For a full program of events click on may12agenda.pdf.
