Tentative agreement reached with CUPE 3906, Unit 1
The University and CUPE 3906, Unit 1 have reached a tentative agreement. The union represents 2,580 teaching assistants and research assistants (in lieu) at McMaster.
The renewal agreement was reached after several months of bargaining to replace the last contract that expired August 31.
Teaching Assistants and Research Assistants are part time positions held by current students who help mark assignments and tests and provide classroom support to instructors.
Both parties will now undertake formal ratification processes.
