The Ride to Conquer Cancer is an annual event involving cyclists who ride from Toronto to Niagara Falls (or Niagara Falls to Toronto) to raise money to fight cancer. Since 2008, the event has raised over $138 million for the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and is currently Canada’s largest cycling fundraiser.

This year, there is a role to play for McMaster in supporting this important community fundraising event. Campus will serve as the halfway point for riders taking part in the two-day event from June 11 to 12. More than half of riders will be housed inside residence buildings overnight while the remainder will be housed in tents on 10 acre field.

Riders will begin to arrive on campus around 11 a.m. Saturday June 11 from the West and finish at 10 acre field in North end.

On Sunday morning between 7 a.m. – 8 a.m. riders will depart campus exiting through Westaway Road near the GO terminal. There will be a lane closure from 6:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. on southbound Cootes Drive between Westaway Rd and Main St. West.
