David Levy returns to David Braley Sport Medicine Clinic


Dr.  David Levy has returned to the David Braley Sport Medicine Clinic.

Levy started the varsity clinic in 1978 with one therapist. He was also a community trail blazer and started the first  primary sport medicine clinic in Southern Ontario – which he still operates.

He was honored in 2013 as a Hamilton Hall of Fame Inductee as a Sports Medicine Builder.  

Dr. Levy is a graduate of McMaster University where he is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Family Medicine with a cross appointment in the Department of Medicine (Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation).

In his practice, Dr. Levy has been looking after athletes of all ages and talent levels for many years.

Dr. Levy has been the team physician to the Hamilton Tiger Cats Football Club for 35 years and has been the medical director of the Toronto Rock Professional Lacrosse team since its inception. He has been a physician to McMaster University and Mohawk College Varsity sports teams and clinics for over 30 years. He is also on the medical staff of the Hamilton Bulldogs AHL hockey team and the team physician to Hamilton’s Breast Cancer Dragon boat team, Knot A Breast, for the past 12 years.

Dr. Levy has been a chair of the OMA Section on Sport Medicine and has been on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Academy of Sport Medicine.  He  is on the Board of Directors of the Hamilton Sport and Musculoskeletal Physicians Group and is the chair of the Program Advisory Committee for the Sheridan College Athletic Therapy program.

Dr. Levy is heavily involved in the education of medical students, and of residents in Family Medicine, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Emergency Medicine. He started and is the Co-Director of McMaster’s Primary Care Sport Medicine Fellowship Program.
