Phone phishing attacks
There have recently been isolated incidents of automated voice phishing attacks directed at McMaster students.
Phone calls have been placed to students which claim to originate from McMaster University. The caller asks for outstanding balances to be paid immediately, and attempts to collect personal banking information.
These calls are fake.
McMaster does not use automated phone recordings and systems to solicit or collect student banking information.
If you receive a phone call like this, just hang up. Do not respond to any questions.
