Humanities launches new student resource, HTLC
After a year of development, the Faculty of Humanities is excited to announce the launch of the Humanities Target Learning & Experiential Education Centre (HTLC), a new resource created with the goal of increasing career exploration and experiential education opportunities for Humanities students.
This joint venture – funded by the Faculty of Humanities and full-time Humanities students – was voted on and passed by students via the McMaster Humanities Society Referendum. As the project continues to grow and evolve, student feedback and interaction will be a crucial component to increase experiential education opportunities.
The new HTLC website will be the hub for information and opportunities that students should utilize during their time at McMaster. To kick-start the launch, the HTLC will be hosting events throughout the semester, including: career conversations with professionals from a range of careers such as law, mediation, marketing and theatre; resume and cover letter workshops to help students apply for positions. Applications for international and local internships are also available through the HTLC website.
The official launch takes place on Monday, Jan. 21 in CIBC Hall (MUSC 3rd Floor) beginning at 10:30 a.m. University President Patrick Deane, Dean of Humanities Suzanne Crosta and MHS president Lisa Bifano will all speak at the event, which will feature live music, student artwork and refreshments. Students, faculty and staff are welcome to attend.
