The McMaster Museum of Art will offer free guided tours of a new exhibition as part of Culture Days this weekend.

Culture Days is a nationwide volunteer movement to raise the awareness, accessibility, participation and engagement of Canadians in the arts and cultural life of their communities. This year’s Culture Days weekend will take place September 28 to September 30.

The McMaster Art Museum, which participates annually, is providing free guided tours of the Takao Tanabe retrospective exhibition titled Chronicles of Form and Place.

The exhibition examines the artist’s career, working in Canada and overseas, and how his visual language—both pictorial and abstract—offers a test of looking and knowing.Following the tour visitors are invited to participate in an outdoor landscape drawing activity.

The tours and activities will take place September 28 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., and September 29 from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

This is the third annual Culture Days weekend with free hands-on activities nationwide that invites the public to participate behind the scenes, discover the world of artists, creators, historians, architects, curators, designers and other creative people in their community.
