President Susan Tighe's upcoming installation will be a time to celebrate the university's vibrant community, rich history and bright future.

Students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members are invited to share a milestone moment in McMaster’s history this month as Susan Tighe is installed as the university’s ninth president and vice-chancellor on Tuesday, Sept. 16.

The official installation ceremony will include traditions steeped in decades of history, along with some contemporary updates: The event will be live streamed to make it accessible to the entire community.

The celebration continues the next day, Wednesday, Sept. 17: Community members are invited to come to a pancake breakfast in the atrium of the McMaster University Student Centre (MUSC) starting 10 a.m. The informal event, which is part of the McMaster Students Union ClubsFest, offers an opportunity to meet President Tighe, mingle and get to know others in the community.

Fostering and strengthening this kind of connection at McMaster has always been one of Tighe’s top priorities, first in her role as provost, and now as president.

The installation of President and Vice-chancellor Susan Tighe will be live streamed on Tuesday, Sept. 16 at 2:30 p.m. on the McMaster Daily News website.

The pancake breakfast will be held on the main floor of MUSC on Wednesday, Sept. 17, at 10 a.m. Click here for more information.
