Mark your calendars for Saturday, Sept. 20, as McMaster welcomes our campus community to a memorable and exciting homecoming!

The McMaster Students Union (MSU) and Student Affairs are hosting a range of homecoming events aimed primarily at students as a welcome back to campus.

“We’re excited to once again collaborate with the McMaster Students Union to create a vibrant day of events for students,” says Sean Van Koughnett, associate vice-president, students.

“It’s inspiring to see this cherished tradition thrive, and I’m confident it will be a day filled with lasting memories and new connections for many in our student community.”

Check out a summary of all the events students can enjoy on campus below:

Football Game: Marauders vs. Gryphons

Continuing a beloved tradition, McMaster is pleased to welcome members of the campus community to the annual Homecoming football game, where the McMaster Marauders will take on the Guelph Gryphons. Alumni and members of the public can purchase tickets here, and students can register to attend the game for free.

Homecoming Festival: Food trucks, inflatables, foam parties and more

The MSU and McMaster Student Affairs are pleased to host additional activities to enjoy on Sept. 20, including food trucks, face painters, swag giveaways, an outdoor movie screening and more!

All events will be held on track field from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., adjacent to Ron Joyce Stadium, where the football game will take place.

The day will culminate with an exciting evening concert headlined by Lil Yachty. Doors will open at 7 p.m.

The MSU is presenting this evening concert for students on the field in front of the John Hodgins Engineering (JHE) building.

“After winning a Canadian Event Award last year, we’re thrilled to bring that same energy — and then some — to the 2025 festival!” says Piper Plavins, MSU president & CEO.

“Our goal is simple: keep the celebration on campus, keep it safe, and make it an unforgettable festival for students.”
