Paint a bat box, take home a plant and learn more about campus sustainability this Earth Day

Five people stand around a table, holding plants in potting soil. Plant pots are on the table. More people are milling around behind them, with other booths visible.

Attendees can take home their own ‘Good Luck’ plants at this year’s Earth Day Fair.

Curious about campus sustainability? Visit the Earth Day Fair, and check out some innovative solutions to campus sustainability challenges.

“Teams from across the university are working hard behind the scenes to make sure our campus is operated in the most sustainable way possible,” says Dave Cano, director of sustainability.

“The Earth Day Fair gives us a chance to show the campus community how we are improving the sustainability of our operations — from the products we use, to the way we design and operate our facilities, this event will showcase how we are embedding sustainable practices throughout our work.”

Stop by and make your own take home “good luck plant” and decorate one of the new campus bat boxes (a wooden shelter designed to provide bats with a safe place to rest, helping support local bat populations). You can also enjoy complimentary treats and learn more about sustainability in action on campus.

Join the Earth Day Fair on April 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m, on the main floor of the Hub.
