Small fire in research building quickly extinguished
The Hamilton Fire Department was on McMaster’s main campus Monday night following a small fire in a machine located within the Tandem Accelerator building.
The fire was quickly extinguished. No one was injured, and there was no contamination following the incident. The fire department gave the building the all clear at 10:50 p.m.
Representatives from the fire department’s Hazardous Materials team were on scene as a precaution. The building, which is used for research, will be open Tuesday.
