Meet the 2025 YWCA Women of Distinction nominees in our community
More than 30 of the 52 extraordinary women and girls nominated for this year’s YWCA Hamilton Women of Distinction awards are McMaster students, graduates, faculty or staff. The awards will be given out at the YWCA's annual Women of Distinction Gala on March 5.
YWCA Hamilton has named its nominees for the 2025 Women of Distinction awards, and more than 30 of these 52 leaders, innovators, and trailblazers are also part of the McMaster community.
The nominations, announced this month, recognize extraordinary women and girls from a range of fields who make an impact in the community in a variety of ways.
The winners will be announced March 5 at the annual Women of Distinction Gala, an event that celebrates these powerhouse change makers while raising money for YWCA programs and services for women, girls and gender-diverse individuals.

In addition to six categories of nominations based on the field in which nominees work, there is also a Lifetime Achievement Award with nominees from each category; and a Young Trailblazer Award, which recognizes individuals younger than 25 who are already inspiring leaders.
