Flags lowered to mark National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women
Flags at McMaster will be lowered on Friday, Dec. 6 in recognition of the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.
This day is a time of mourning and remembrance for the victims of the 1989 Montreal massacre, when a gunman killed 14 female engineering students and staff at Polytechnique Montréal.
It is also a day to commemorate the thousands of murdered and missing Indigenous women and girls, as well as members of the McMaster community and those around the world who have been harmed by gender-based violence.
