Restructuring in Operations and Finance Division
The environment in which McMaster operates is evolving at a rapid pace as we move beyond the pandemic and towards a more competitive and challenging future.
To ensure that the university is ready to meet new demands and to proactively support McMaster’s academic and research missions, some restructuring is happening within the Vice-President, Operations and Finance Office.
The current role of Assistant Vice-President (Administration) and Chief Financial Officer will be divided into two portfolios. In recognition of the importance of diversified revenue generation, a new AVP, Real Estate and Partnerships role will complement a newly designed AVP and Chief Financial Officer position.
While these changes will create new focus and scope for both roles and for the university, it does mean that Deidre (Dee) Henne will be leaving her position. Since joining McMaster in 2011, Dee has helped to ensure that the university’s finances have been expertly and professionally managed. Her commitment to her work as AVP (Administration) and CFO, has enabled the university to undertake many new and exciting initiatives and has ensured that McMaster is respected as one of Canada’s most fiscally sound universities. McMaster thanks her for her excellent work.
The university hopes to complete the hiring of the two new roles as swiftly as possible. In the meantime, we will be appointing an interim CFO. Updates will be shared as soon as possible.
