The University Club to reopen on Tuesday, March 8
The University Club on McMaster’s main campus is set to reopen, marking another milestone in the gradual return of campus community activities.
The Club will open its doors on Tuesday, March 8, and the restaurant will open on Wednesday, March 23, with a new structure to benefit club members and the broader community.
Based on Club member feedback, the university will operate the lower-level restaurant as an open space for both Club and community patrons. The West Room and Great Hall will serve as event spaces, available to both Club members and to others in the community by reservation.
“The University Club’s reopening in Alumni Memorial Hall is an important part of resuming McMaster’s campus community activities,” says McMaster president and vice-chancellor David Farrar. “The Club’s new format along with building enhancements to highlight the history of this space reflects our strong long-standing partnership.”
Alumni Memorial Hall, including the dedicated Club spaces, are currently undergoing minor updates to highlight the history of this space. Changes include returning the open restaurant dining area to its historical name, The Buttery, along with other nods to building’s rich history.
