Checking for the check
Starting September 7, all McMaster faculty, students and staff will be required to upload proof of vaccination to the MacCheck digital tool and complete daily COVID health screening.
To help ensure the health and safety of our community, if you’re on campus or at other McMaster facilities, you should be prepared to show or may be asked to present your MacCheck clearance that is part of the MacCheck program.
Showing your green MacCheck clearance check mark will be particularly important in those settings where people are interacting in student service areas or for one-on-one appointments, including:
- The Student Wellness Centre
- Athletics and Recreation at key service entry points
- Libraries – research assistance and appointments
- Before beginning one-on-one meetings including instructor office hours, TA office hours
- Student advising
- Faculty, School, Department and program offices
- Office reception areas
- Finance, Registrar and Student Aid and Scholarship offices
You will not be required to show your MacCheck clearance to enter campus or a campus building. There will not be any random checks for MacCheck clearance in open and common areas of campus.
Vaccination proof is required for visitors, volunteers, contractors, and lessees. If you are in one of these groups external to McMaster and using the McMaster Safety App to upload your proof of vaccination, you’ll receive a QR code on your smartphone. You may need to provide this code in these above circumstances. Details for visitors, volunteers, contractors and lessees is available here.
