The Registrar’s Office to implement new admissions system Slate for out-of-province and international UG applicants this Fall
The Registrar’s Office (RO) is preparing to welcome our 105 applicants including out-of-province and international undergraduate applications into the new Slate admissions system this fall. Implementation of this new system started in August 2020 in preparation for the 2022-2023 admission cycle which begins September 2021.
This initiative is one of many implemented as part of the McMaster IT Strategic Plan to build a more connected, seamless, and transformative campus.
About Slate:
Slate is a comprehensive recruitment and admissions system, with a user-friendly interface that provides a seamless and enhanced applicant experience. The system is designed for staff and faculty to easily and efficiently connect with prospective students and review and evaluate applications to ensure McMaster continues to admit stellar applicants to our undergraduate programs. From source uploads to file distributions, Slate seamlessly channels and integrates all application requirements facilitating applicant review while providing up-to-date application status to our prospective students.
Training and On-Going support:
Training for this system will begin at the end of August 2021 and continue until November 2021. A hybrid training model approach is being used to allow staff the flexibility to learn with the tools and timing that best meets their individual needs.
The hybrid training will offer:
- 1.5-hour live training sessions
- Video recordings of the different modules to be hosted in MS Teams
- Training manuals to enhance the learning experience and support the video modules
- Weekly Q&A sessions, every Thursday
The RO Slate Captains will be available for on-going support. End users can contact the Registrar’s Office for assistance.
