Safety and Health Week: Award of Excellence

The goal of Safety and Health Week (formerly NAOSH Week) is to focus employers, employees, partners and the public on the importance of preventing injury and illness in the workplace, at home and in the community. Faculty and staff can show their commitment to health and safety by participating in initiatives offered from May 3-7.

Virtual session details and registration can be found here.

The Health and Safety Award of Excellence is presented to an individual and/or group from our McMaster community who has done an outstanding job of promoting health, safety and wellness in the workplace. This year the award recipient(s) were announced via video message by President and Vice-Chancellor David Farrar.

Health and Safety has been an integral part of McMaster’s response to the COIVD-19 pandemic over the past year. More than ever, people are speaking the language of safety and it’s important that we keep the momentum going beyond the pandemic.

Congratulations to the award recipients and thank you for all you do to support a safe workplace, whether virtual or in person!
