University librarian takes on new role

McMaster's chief librarian has announced that he is leaving the University.

Jeff Trzeciak, who has spent the last six years at the helm of the University's libraries,
has been named university librarian at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.

Trzeciak will assume the role as of July 1, 2012.

Under his leadership, McMaster's libraries became leaders in providing modern and
dynamic study and learning centres for students, faculty, staff and the community. In
2008 the library became the first Canadian institution to earn the ACRL Excellence in
Academic Libraries award.

Transition plans are being developed and will be shared with the McMaster community
when they are confirmed.
