Oct. 27: Leveraging the Brain-body Connection to Promote Learning

With support from the Office of the Dean of Science, the School of Interdisciplinary Science is pleased to announce the second talk in the MacDuet Eduction Talks series, Leveraging the Brain-body Connection to Promote Learning delivered by guest speaker, Dr. Barbara Fenesi from McMaster’s Department of Kinesiology.

Through MacDUET – our monthly Brown Bag series meant to encourage multidisciplinary interactions among all members of the McMaster community – we aim to create a casual environment where invited speakers share innovative ideas about teaching and learning and further discuss how these ideas are realized into practice.

When: Friday, October 27 2017,  from 12:30 p.m. until 1:20 p.m.
Where: The  MacPherson Classroom, 5th floor of Mills Library

By the end of the session, participants should be able to:

1. Identify how cognitive limitations impact instructional design;
2. Apply scientifically-sound principles to the design of your own instruction or presentations;
3. Understand how body function can impact brain function and implications for student success
