New program to seed research projects

Research proposals are sought by McMaster University’s new Health Leadership Academy (HLA) that will support initiatives that generate and/or disseminate knowledge aimed at improving efficiencies and effectiveness related to health care delivery, population health and/or well-being; and that inform the education of emerging healthcare leaders.

The proposed projects, which may be funded up to $20,000, could include initiatives such as research projects; development of tools like cases, simulations or apps; processes (e.g. systems) for pedagogical purposes, as well as wider knowledge dissemination activities like conference attendance, preparation of posters.

The HLA, created with a generous donation of Michael G. DeGroote and a join initiative of the DeGroote School of Business and the Faculty of Health Sciences, is establishing programs to train the next generation of health care leaders.

An information session about the research program will be held Tuesday Sept. 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. on the fourth floor of the Ron Joyce Centre in Burlington. The deadline for research project proposals is Oct. 18, 2016.
