McMaster’s Dr. Carter recognized for online learning expertise

Dr. Lorraine Carter, Director of the McMaster University Centre for Continuing Education, will be included in a directory of top Canadian researchers in the field of online, distance and blended learning. Contact North has recognized Dr. Carter as a leading contributor to the growing body of research in this area. The directory will be profiled on the teachonline.ca portal.

Dr. Carter is Associate Editor with the Journal of Professional, Continuing, and Online Education (formerly Canadian Journal of University Continuing Education). She has also served as Associate Editor of the International Journal of E-learning and Distance Education (formerly Journal of Distance Education) Dr. Carter’s dissertation examined the critical thinking and online education experiences of Ontario Registered Nurses.

 The criteria for inclusion to the directory includes:

• The researcher is attached to a college, university or other educational institution in Canada;

• The researcher published research with a focus on some aspect of online learning, distance or blended learning in the last 5 years in a refereed journal or some other peer review process; and

• Others have cited the work.
