Librarian collective bargaining

The University is currently in collective bargaining with the McMaster University Academic Libraries Association (MUALA).  Negotiations began in the summer and a provincial conciliator has been assisting with discussions over the past few weeks.  The union has now requested that the conciliator file a No Board Report which sets a potential strike/lockout date of November 20.  When the two parties met with the conciliator last week progress was made and more than half of the contract has now been settled.  The University is hopeful that the next sessions of bargaining will see continued progress in reaching an agreement.  MUALA represents 24 academic librarians at McMaster.
